Artist's Comments

Ah, my beloved Stephen! Comedic genius and blooming director. If you don't know who he is, for God's sake, do a Google search!! And then watch a bunch of his movies! This particular shot was taken from Kung Fu Hustle.

I've actually been trying to draw him for *years* now and he has always defied me. But this time, I think I got him... or pretty danged close. There are flaws, of course, and lots of erasing as you can see from the nimbus around his head, but all in all, not too bad.

Sepia version in the scraps. It looks pretty nice, I think.

His the one that got his ass kicked at first then awakened his inner chi yea??? Loved that movie...nice pice btw - you've got skills.

Yup, that's him! Tho I must admit Kung Fu Hustle isn't my fave movie of his. Still, will be very happy for part 2 when Ng Mang Tat comes back! Missed him in Hustle 1.

Thanks!!

No problemo...!

I love the shading but his clothes don't look as heavily shaded as his face. >.< It doesn't look consistant. But that's rather minor, and other than that, it's oozing with skill. *goes off to cry in shame that she critisized this magnificint work*

Wow!
Really great work!
Love the way you've shaded, and the lighting is beautiful. Especially like the way you've done the eyes, with those highligts.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stranger.

My global position systems are vocally adressed; they say the Nile used to run from east to west.

*LOL* That's because I generally don't pay much attention to the clothing. He's lucky I did as much as I did. Heh. This is why I did not succeed as a comic book artist-- I hate the BG stuff and in a portrait, the clothes are BG stuff.

However, I have started to pay a LITTLE more attention to the clothes, hence why I even bothered with as much as I did on his, but I concentrate on the face and hair more. Just one of my quirks. Thanks for the comments!! One of these days, I'll focus on clothes too. *grins*
